The A-10 System Program Office (SPO) requires an A-10 Platform Obsolescence Plan (APOP) to assist in executing, prioritizing, and tracking support from the Ai r Logistics Complex (ALC) Item Managers and their teams in supporting, reporting and resolving obsolescence parts issues for the A-10 commodities for which they are responsible. BAE Systems engineering and logistics personnel will develop a thorough AVCOM Load List of commodity candidates for loading in AVCOM, using a customer driven priority method. This contract will encompass basic engineering disciplines of: systems engineering and integration, risk management, technical assessment, acquisition program management, change management, and interface with SPO operations and logistics personnel.
Position will be located at or near Hill AFB, Utah.
Required Skills and Education
This position will involve performing systems engineering functions such as developing and managing systems level requirements, developing operational systems concepts, performing system trade studies, analysis of alternatives and design concepts for component through systems level sustainment and integration of highly complex systems.
Responsibilities may include:
1. Performing one of more of the following systems engineering functions:
a. Analyzes and develops DMSMS solutions at the component and assembly level.
b. Reviews, develops and documents system level sustainment options.
c. Develops and evaluates complex system designs and architectures.
2. Estimating solutions cost and schedules for new and sustainment projects.
3. Preparing and/or delivering basic customer and technical presentations.
4. Will have extensive outside contact with customers, other contractors and government officials.
Preferred Skills and Education
Seven (7) years directly related experience (4 years with MS degree) with the A-10 Weapon System, preferred avionics systems, or support equipment, providing technical/engineering leadership with a working knowledge of USAF aircraft/engineering standards. BS/MS degree in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Physics required. At least 3 years progressive responsibility in providing technical leadership.
Working knowledge of engineering standards and best practices
Proficient in MS Office (PowerPoint, Word, Excel) to document design information
Excellent technical writing skills, communication skills and team mentality
Strong attention to detail
